Windhoek, 10 August 2016 – Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) and Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) are delighted to announce the finalization of the wage negotiations that were concluded on 5 August 2016, with the final salary agreement being approved on 8 August 2016.

The NWR Board provided NWR management with the mandate to proactively negotiate with NAPWU on this important matter based upon what the company was able to offer to its valuable employees. It was very pleasing that both parties managed to agree on some critical matters. Both parties agreed to a 5% increase for employees within Job Grades A to D 2 for the financial year 2015/2016 effective from 1 November 2015. It was also agreed that a skills audit and job evaluation would be done in order to inform future salary increments.

Mrs. Zelna Hengari, NWR Managing Director said, “I would like to thank the Board for the mandate they gave us to negotiate on behalf of the company. In the same spirit, I must applaud NAPWU for facilitating this process in order to ensure that our employees' concerns are addressed”.

NWR’s Vision is to be “a recognized leader in tourism and hospitality services in Namibia”. For more information, please consult our website or liaise with us directly using the details below.
