/Ai-/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, Fish River Canyon, 8 April 2017 – After months of refurbishments, Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) officially presented their Hobas Camp with a new facelift back into the market on the 7 April 2017.

NWR Chairman, Ambassador Leonard Iipumbu, could not hide his excitement and appreciation towards Mrs. Zelna Hengari, NWR’s Managing Director, the entire NWR team, including everyone that worked tirelessly in making the Hobas project a success.

The Chairman said, “you have managed to pull off an amazing transformation. I know that this achievement has come with a lot of hard work and dedication. Hobas looks beautiful and I am sure that everybody cannot wait to enjoy the new additions”.

He further added that, apart from hiking in the canyon he is pleased with the cross-border activities that take place in Hobas between April and September every year. The main emphasis of the cross-border activity is the 5-day cycling tour. He, therefore, encouraged everyone to take part in the cycling tour because it aims at contributing towards unlocking the tourism potential of the /Ai-/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park.

Previously Hobas was solely a campsite, however, with the new additions of the rooms, restaurant and swimming pool there is now more to offer to clients that frequently visit the area during the hiking season. Mrs. Hengari emphasized that, “with this re-introduction, Government’s efforts and commitment to developing and growing the tourism sector can be vividly seen. As the custodians of the establishments within Namibia’s National Parks, NWR is pleased with these new additions. The amount of work that went into realizing this product is testimony that when provided with the resources NWR can deliver”.
